Colour Scheming
As I gradually rebuild this website up from nothing, it amused me to have no stylesheet for a while, and just see black text on a white background with blue links that turn purple when you visit them. Talk about a throwback!
But now it’s time to add some colour. And I’m not a designer, but I know what I like. I’ll probably alter and update the palette plenty as I go, and then I’ll experiment with making this an “evergreen” post that I keep updating, but for now here are some resources1 I’ve found useful:
- Siddharth11/Colorful: A curated list of awesome resources to choose your next color scheme
- Shadows of Regret Color Palette - ColorDrop – This site has a bunch of nice palettes, but I particularly liked the name of this one. I might try it out for that reason alone.
- Coolors - The super fast color palettes generator! – this is fun to play with.
- Reasonable Colors – I appreciate the name, and that it’s an open-source resource. Currently using some complementary colours suggested here.

Among other things, a post like this on my site lets me close all the bloody tabs I keep open on my laptop, because now I have the pages linked here for future reference… ↩
